December 8, 2011 - we invite you to join us on December 16, 2011 at the Coast Capri Hotel (Okanagan Room, main floor) between 4:00 and 8:00pm for our Open House.  Bring a friend and enjoy a refreshment while sneeking a peek at what we have been doing in preparation of our 3rd Reading scheduled for January 10, 2012.

Every year our family embraces the Christmas spirit by "adopting" families to assist in making the holiday season a bit brighter.  This year we have "adopted" the Cottonwoods Care Home who are in need of supplies for various activities and social events.  We have collected a "wish list" for those of you who would like to help.

"Hospital Precinct"

The Refined Concept proposes a Hospital Precinct.  The idea is for the Hospital Precinct to allow insitutional uses related to the hospital, as well as more multi-unit housing, and accommodation for those requiring extended stays.  The survey asked which uses respondents thought were appropriate for the Hospital Precinct.  The majority of respondents were in favor of all uses except for commercial:

    • Insitutional uses related to the hospital 82.3%
    • Hospital related health services (such as clinics and labs) 89.4%
    • Multi-unit residential uses 56.9%
    • Temporary accommodation for patients undergoing longer term treatment along with family members and friends (such as a Ronald McDonald house) 94.9%
    • Commercial uses 31.2%

November 2009 Official Community Plan review 2030, 2nd Phase Online Survey #6

"South Pandosy"

How do you feel about the proposed land use changes in the South Pandosy area? The letter/number (e.g. SP1) for the statement below relates to the letter/number shown on the map.  The response to the proposed changes in the South Pandosy area were quite positive.  More than two thirds of the respondents agree or strongly agreed with the proposed changes.

The strongest positive response was for changes from Residential to Health District which allows health related uses in this area including health services such as clinics and labs, insitutional uses related to the hospital, temporary accommodation (such as a Ronald McDonald House) and multi-unit residential uses in the following areas:

    • SP1 - in an area between Richter and Pandosy: 88.7% agree/strongly agree
